The story follows Janae, a girl who has spent most of her life playing a role: the quiet daughter, the agreeable girl, the version of herself that made everyone else comfortable. She smiled when it hurt, stayed when it suffocated, and convinced herself that fitting into her family’s box was safer than standing outside of it.

But pretending is its own kind of death. When Janae finally chooses herself, maybe too late or maybe right on time, she discovers the cost of silence, the weight of compromise, and the beauty that lives on the other side of becoming, even if it means walking away from the only family she has ever known.
