About the event
The DeLUXE Show is focused on Legacy—specifically, the legacy of the Black Arts Center in 5th Ward. Established in 1970 under the guidance of HOPE Development, the Black Arts Center was created to offer the Black community in Houston greater opportunities for cultural development and expression. Thanks to the support of John and Dominique de Menil, the center became a vital cultural hub in 5th Ward, leaving behind a rich legacy of Black art and culture, including a dynamic solo exhibition by Joe Overstreet.
